A bit like Shakespeare’s dilemma of “to be or not to be”… in Tango it’s:
To Connect or Not to Connect?
That is the question.
Yes! Because it all comes down to that… Keep reading, and you’ll understand.
How many times have you criticized the dancing of other couples while watching videos or a performance?
How many times have you danced with someone and didn’t enjoy it?
You can apply these questions to many things in the realm of art…
Liking or disliking something depends on whether I connect or don’t connect.
It’s that simple:
When I connect, I like it.
When I don’t connect… I don’t like it.
The “I don’t like it” is only because I fail to understand; I don’t receive the “message” from the other person, couple, artwork, etc… therefore, I don’t connect.
And this can be caused by countless things:
- The years I’ve spent dancing.
- The stage of life I’m in as a human being, my personal history.
- My sensitivity — musical, visual, and perceptive.
- My age: dancing tango at 20 is not the same as dancing it at 40, 60, or 80…
- The relationship I have with the world around me: if I perceive it as hostile and live with anger, I’m going to criticize everything I see in a negative way.
- My birth chart: apologies if you don’t like astrology, but there is a lot of valuable information there to understand what and how I connect with things.
- The energy of that particular day when I observe and/or dance and try to connect… including the positions of the planets on that day, and especially the moon.
So, as you can see… it’s not so simple…
Before giving a “like” or “dislike,” you must first truly connect…
That’s why I almost always keep quiet… In the end, it doesn’t really matter, because everything is changeable, and what I like today, I might not like tomorrow.
So live and enjoy your dance and that of others.
Be grateful for and admire what you like: it’s a sign that you’ve connected… the rest doesn’t matter… let it pass.
Turn off the mind,
Turn on the heart,
And enjoy the moment in every step.
Look at this photo and observe all the colors that surround it, these are the filters that we have at the moment of observing and perceiving to then say “I like it or not”... and at the end the central image also has one more filter...
