ONLINE WORKSHOPS at YOUR VIRTUAL DANCE STUDIO

We have an idea that we would like to share with you.

We think this is great possibility and opportunity for all of us!

Have always be like that when we traveled to different cities teaching all around the world and co-working with organizers. Now travels and workshops have change their way to be…But we can still work together! We can travel virtually and go to teach a workshops or a private lessons to your studio!

You can advertise our lessons to your community, students and organize them, create the group will take the workshops! And as before, we’ll share the income!

You’ll be the host of the Zoom Meeting!

That’ll be your VIRTUAL STUDIO!

We only need to coordinate, topics, day and time for the workshops or privates and start to promote them!

In some cities there are already face to face group lessons reduced to 10 couples, if this is the case in your city, you could also coordinate workshops-lessons for those small groups that can already study in your studio while physically being there and we can offer them a virtual workshop-lesson where together we will be conducting the class.

There are people who are interested in private classes but do not have the space to dance and / or do not know how to use virtual platforms to take their classes, so you could also coordinate and organize these them!

There are many possibilities for us to continue working together.   The digital world has expanded, and is available to all of us, we are no more than a few clicks away!

We believe in the importance of continuing with the teamwork between dancers-teachers and organizers that was always a fundamental point for the growth of tango in the world.

So let’s setup our next ONLINE WORKSHOPS at Your Virtual ZOOM DANCE STUDIO!

Seminars by Oscar Mandagaran & Georgina Vargas

We give seminars regularly in many different countries, as well as in Buenos Aires. Click on our "EVENTS" section to see where we are going to be teaching.

If you would like to organize a seminar in your city, please contact us directly at our email georgina.vargas@hotmail.com
We are currently based in ALICANTE, Spain, where we teach workshops, private lessons and from where we travel to give lessons and shows.

Here is a list of the fundamental topics included in our teaching system, so that organizers can choose which seminars to offer. We always ask organizers to choose topics for the classes, but then we choose the order in which they will be taught, so that each class builds on the class before, to give students the maximum benefit from the entire program.

Teaching method

Teaching Method

We teach Argentine tango for dancing socially and for performing on stage. The style we teach is the style of Buenos Aires, the authentic style of dancing tango at a Buenos Aires milonga. After many years of dancing and teaching, we have developed one artistic concept for dancing on the stage, and one for dancing socially at a milonga. Our method is precisely designed to give our students the opportunity to expand their knowledge and develop their skill.

In our lessons we concentrate on all of those qualities that are second nature to every true tango dancer, such as the embrace, musicality, posture, energy, sensuality and elegance. We teach compact tango patterns and sequences that are suitable for social dancing including dancing on a crowded dance floor. We always introduce each pattern by first demonstrating it to give the student an example of the ideal technique and execution of the movement. We have found that this is the best method to allow the students to understand how to use their body to create the same pattern. Afterward we provide individual critiques, and when necessary, dance the pattern with the students to allow them to experience the sensation of correctly executing the steps, and to give them the opportunity to imitate our example.

In addition we focus attention on good technique, because we are convinced it is the foundation for the continuing development of your dancing. This means learning the proper way to carry and move your body comfortably without injury. For this reason we include a short period of warm-up exercises and stretching at the beginning of each class. In this way the student can prepare his/her body to learn the new movements, as well as to introduce the student to short sequences of steps that will be needed later in the class.

In our teaching we emphasize musicality, fluid movements, and good connection with the partner. For us the quality of the students' movements is more important than teaching of a large number of complicated tango patterns. In our teaching we also include an orientation for our students on the traditions of Argentine Tango, including proper etiquette and courtesy on the dance floor.

It is not necessary to come to our workshops with a partner as we encourage the rotation of partners throughout each class. Of course, we do respect students’ wishes if they want to continue to dance with their partner.

O&G Training System and Instructors Around the World

Over the course of many years, we have developed a clear and precise teaching method that we use in all of our classes, and that is used by many of our students that are teachers, to teach our technique to their own students. Our teaching system is grounded in the understanding and control of one's own body, which can only be achieved through technique.

Why do we think that technique is so important for dancing? Gaining a mastery of technique is what allows the body to express feeling and allows perfect communication and comprehension between the two people dancing, connected by the tango embrace! If we don't know how to move our body in a fluid and harmonious way, we can't relax the mind enough to enjoy the dance. Working on technique requires, first, the understanding and training of the body to be able to complete certain movements, which at a later stage happens via our body memory, in a way that allows the mind to concentrate only on the expression of feeling, the music, communication and creativity. Technique is purely for the benefit of feeling in the dance.

Another important reason for (studying) technique is to preserve the health of our body. Movements that are done correctly not only benefit our dancing, but also help maintain healthy muscles, tendons and ligaments! Doing movements with the wrong technique can cause pain and physical damage that is very easy to avoid simply by doing the moves in the correct way.

You learn musicality at the same time as you learn technique in our method of teaching. Every lesson and every figure that we teach includes work on musicality in each rhythm, whether it is tango, vals or milonga.

Practicing our technique results in rapid learning of the dance as well as of the figures of the dance, and students are able to enjoy tango more quickly using our method

All of our teaching DVDs incorporate our teaching method and can be used both for individual benefit, as well as for preparing to teach others.
